Dance Elite Company Teams
At Dance Elite we have just completed our 8th season as one of the most innovative, rapidly growing, and exciting dance studios in northern California. We also have one of the largest company programs in the entire United States involving over 140 intermediate-advanced dancers ages 4-30+ dancing in all styles such as hip hop, jazz, lyrical/contemporary, musical theatre, and tap. You may have noticed something different – we are no longer calling our teams “Competition” teams. We made this change three years ago for many different reasons, the first being that our dancers do more than just competition. At Dance Elite we believe that competition can be a valuable tool in shaping a dancer’s performance ability, technique, confidence, and feeling of being a part of a greater purpose. However, we are not limited to just competitions! Our company dancers also perform at community events such as the Kings games, our showcases in the winter and spring, our Winter Dance Festival at the Galleria in January, as well as local charity events.
Our dancers also attend mandatory clinics in the spring and summer where well-known choreographers come in to insure that our dancers are on the cutting-edge of what is happening in the dance world. Some of the famous dancers who have taught master classes at our studio over the past few years include Donyelle Jones, Courtney Galliano, Stephen “Twitch” Boss, Chris Jones, Barry Youngblood, and Haley Kostas. At Dance Elite we pride ourselves in being by far the most well-rounded studio in our area with instructors who are experts in their fields of dance. We are constantly working to improve our company program each and every year. Our dancers and instructors have worked very hard over the past few years and we are proud to have many soloists and groups place within the top ten at each regional and national competition.
Dance Elite All Stars Company Team Mission Statement
The primary goal of our Company Team program is to train our dancers to not only become well-rounded and technically-proficient dancers, but to also have a positive self-image and to respect themselves and others. Dance Elite Company Dancers will be given the tools that will help shape them into being responsible, successful, and driven individuals. It is our hope that our dancers will learn to find joy in and to appreciate the art of dance for the rest of their lives whether they decide to pursue a career in dance or in another chosen profession.
*Interested in our Company program for yourself or your child? Our company auditions take place every April however we accept dancers on a case by case basis through September. Our 2013-2014 auditions will be taking place on Sunday, April 21st 2013. Please call the front desk for exact audition times. Pre-Professional dancers (ages 18+) and the Empire Hip Hop Crew hold auditions in September. We will have our annual Company Team Meeting on Sunday, August 25th to layout the exact schedule for the entire season & give you the updated versions of our contracts and cost breakdown schedule.

Saturday, April 20th- Dance Elite Spring Intensive 2013
*All Dancers who are auditiong for Youth and Above teams are required to attend our Spring Intensive
*Pictures with the instructors begin at 10:30 sharp. Pictures will not be allowed during or after class.
*Warm-up begins at 11:30
*Classes begin at 12:00 sharp!
*Dancers do NOT need to be in official Dance Elite uniform, however they do need to wear dance attire and footwear that is appropriate for each dance style.
*Our master instructors for the intensive will be Matt Kazmierczak from “So you think You can Dance” Season 9 (Contemporary), Nick Young from “So you think you can Dance” Season 8 (Tap), and Tony Bellissimo “So you think you can Dance” Season 5 ( Hip Hop) and our Very Own Nick Gioiosa (Jazz- Look for bios on our “Master Teacher” section soon!). The cost for the intensive is $95 per student which can be paid at the front desk before attending the intensive. Current company dancers who are in the youth-senior age levels have already paid for the intensive.

Spring Intensive 2013 Schedule
Sunday, April 21st- 2013-2014 Company Auditions
*Our Company auditions will be the very next day, Sunday April 21st. Dance Elite is proud to have one of the largest company dance programs in California with over 100 dancers currently on our teams. We offer a variety of different teams for beginning/advanced levels (mini-juniors) and intermediate/advanced levels (Youth-Pre-Pro). Our dancers also have the opportunity to perform solos and duet/trios in the genres they are studying as well.
*Please arrive 20 minutes early to receive your number, fill out paperwork, and to warm-up in studio B. Auditions will take place in studio C.
*Please audition according to the grade in which you or your child will be entering for the 2013-2014 school year. However, if you or your child were on a company team (2012-2013 season) that was higher than their age level please audition for that age level for that particular dance genre. Some dancers may be asked to stay and audition for a higher age bracket if the judges deem it necessary. Dancers will learn a short piece of choreography and will be asked to execute it in a group of 3-4 dancers. Please come dressed appropriately for each dance genre. You do NOT need to wear your Dance Elite uniform for the audition.

* For those of you who would like to join our Pre-Pro team we will be holding audition in August.
*If you are interested in joining our Jazz Production Team next year please come to the first 2 weeks of class as we will be holding in class auditions. Miss Carrie will be evaluating all the dancers and putting them in their accurate level. For more information see the attached Flyer.
