Welcome to Dance Elite All Stars Company Teams

At Dance Elite we have just completed our 5th season as one of the most innovative, rapidly growing, and exciting dance studios in northern California. We also have one of the largest company programs in the entire United States involving over 120 intermediate-advanced dancers ages 5-30+ dancing in all styles such as hip hop, jazz, lyrical/contemporary, musical theatre, and tap. You may have noticed something different ... we are no longer calling our teams "Competition" teams. We have made this change for many different reasons, the first being that our dancers do more than just competition. At Dance Elite we believe that competition can be a valuable tool in shaping a dancer's performance ability, technique, confidence, and feeling of being a part of a greater purpose. However, we are not limited to just competitions! Our company dancers also perform at community events such as the Kings and Monarchs games, our showcases in the winter and spring, and the brand new "Winter Dance Festival" that will take place at the Galleria in January. Our dancers also attend mandatory clinics in the spring and summer where well-known choreographers come in to insure that our dancers are on the cutting-edge of what is happening in the dance world. Our more advanced dancers will also get the opportunity to take part in various dance conventions where they will learn from the world's top instructors and choreographers. Four of our dancers have already received scholarships at the "Monsters of Contemporary" convention in Santa Clara and the "Company Dance" convention in Sacramento in Fall 2009 alone. It is for these reasons that we have decided to change our name from "competition teams" to "company teams" in order to properly describe what our talented dancers do! Our company dancers will be in the best possible hands for the 2009-2010 season. At Dance Elite we pride ourselves in being by far the most well-rounded studio in our area with instructors who are experts in their fields of dance. We are constantly working to improve our company program each and every year.

Some other new changes for the 2009-2010 season are:

• Jazz Production Team for dancers wanting a "taste" of what it is like to be on a company team.
• NRG Elite Hip Hop Team for advanced hip hop dancers of all ages who also learn about choreography, dance history, and what it takes to be a professional dancer.
• Optional conventions for career-minded and/or advanced dancers
• Winter and Spring showcases @ Del Oro High School
• Winter Dance Festival @ the Galleria
• Spring Intensive clinic w/ well-known choreographers, and classes for dancers and parents for career-minded dancers (commercial, company, college-bound)
• Coming Fall 2010... expanded ballet program!

Dance Elite All Stars Company Team Mission Statement

The primary goal of our Company Team program is to train our dancers to not only become well-rounded and technically-proficient dancers, but to also have a positive self-image and to respect themselves and others. Dance Elite Company Dancers will be given the tools that will help shape them into being responsible, successful, and driven individuals. It is our hope that our dancers will learn to find joy in and to appreciate the art of dance for the rest of their lives whether they decide to pursue a career in dance or in another chosen profession.

*Interested in our Company program for yourself or your child? Our next official audition will be held on Sunday, April 18th 2010 with an informational meeting on Friday, April 16th at 7:30p.m. at our studio. If you have missed our 2010-2011 audition you must register for our Summer Intensive (August 3rd-6th 2010) and let the front desk know what team(s) you are auditioning for. Pre-Professional dancers (ages 18+) typically audition in September but are taken throughout the entire year on a case by case basis. If you or your child are not currently training at a dance studio and would like to audition for our 2010-2011 company teams we highly encourage you to enroll in regular classes and/or technique classes and register for our Spring Intensive 2010.
